Safety Rules:
1. Always keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
2. Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
3. Always keep the muzzle of your firearm pointed in a safe direction. If there is no safe direction, then keep the firearm holstered or cased.
4. IMMEDIATELY personally check if a firearm you handle is unloaded.
5. Always keep the firearm unloaded until you are ready to use it.
6. Always keep the action of the firearm open until you are ready to use it.
7. Always keep the manual safety of the firearm on until you are ready to shoot (given that the firearm has one)
8. Always be sure of your target and of what is around, between and beyond you and your target.
9. Know the correct and safe way of operating the firearm.
10. Always wear eye and ear protection when you or others are shooting.
11. Never use any form of drugs, alcohol, or prescription drugs while handling a firearm.
12. Always make sure you have the correct ammunition for the firearm you are using.
13. Every range may have different safety considerations/SOPs to follow.
14. Always store firearms and ammunition so unauthorized persons cannot have access to them.
15. Always bring your cased firearm with the firearm pointed down range while in the case to the shooting line or firearms that have clear chamber/ barrel indicators pointed in a safe direction until at the firing line then pointed down range. (Leave clear chamber indicators in until ready to load the firearm and shoot)
16. Always IMMEDIATELY obey any/all cease fire commands.
